Resize Image to 20KB

Compress a signature or photo until it is safely under 20KB. The file is measured at 1 KB = 1,000 bytes, so a “maximum 20KB” form can accept it.

1

Upload the image

A signature on a white background, or the photo the form asked for.

2

Pick a starting size

Keep dimensions, use Signature (400×140), or ID photo (200×230). The tool will go smaller if 20KB requires it.

3

Download the JPG

Check the preview. Green output means the file is under 20KB and ready to upload.

20KB image questions

Why is 20KB hard for a normal photo?

A full camera photo cannot stay large and also weigh 20KB. The tool lowers JPEG quality first. If that is not enough, it reduces width and height and tells you that it did. Signatures and simple ID photos hold up much better than a detailed scene.

Should a signature be PNG?

Only if the PNG is already under 20KB. A photo-like PNG is much larger than JPG. When PNG cannot fit, the tool saves JPG and says so. Most government and exam uploads expect JPG anyway.

The form wants both a size and exact pixels.

Type the required width and height, then compress. If those pixels cannot fit in 20KB, dimensions are reduced and the note says so. Raise the limit on the KB Resizer if the form’s pixel rule matters more than 20KB.
