Will a 500KB photo still look sharp?

Usually yes. 500KB is a comfortable budget for a normal photo, so the tool can stay near the original dimensions and a high JPEG quality. Use 1600px wide if you want a lighter web image that is still clear.

What if my photo is already under 500KB?

If you do not change the dimensions and the original is already under the cap, the original file is kept so it is not recompressed for no reason.

I need 50KB or 20KB instead.
